SGT Brunner Report

(Follow up to The Lost Little One)

[REPORT 001 BEGIN]

[G.S.C. – 16590.07] [SGT. CHARLIE BRUNNER]

[4TH EXO-SQUAD FROM CARRIER: SHADOW OF PROGRESS]

[CURRENTLY STATIONED ON PLANET VALLIS WITHIN COLONY 7]

[PURPOSE: TO DEFEND LOCALS AGAINST PIRATE RAIDING]

This is Sergeant Charlie Brunner of the 4th Exo-Squad.

I am submitting this report to confirm our successful integration into the culture of Colony 7 and to contribute information on the alien race that we call the Tallest.

This information about the Tallest should be sent to command for the sake of creating a datasheet about this species for anyone unfamiliar with them because it has become abundantly clear that WE NEED ONE.

I came across the information below from a chance encounter with a member of this species and decided that it would be better for everyone if it were compiled and spread.

The Tallest are a species that bears remarkable similarity to humans (at a glance anyway) with the distinct difference being that they can be anywhere from 15 to 30 feet tall on average. They are a mostly herbivorous species with exceptions for most animal products. NOTE: Their digestion cannot process meats of any kind and they can easily become sick if they consume any amount (they can however consume small amounts of milk, eggs, and most other secondary animal products). The Tallest differ greatly from humans regarding reproduction, cultural norms, and physical abilities. For starters, they reproduce kind of asexually with their bodies having an organ that absorbs DNA from pheromones and mixes it to produce an offspring when circumstances are favorable. They only have a single sex (and a single gender as far as I can tell) with each member being able to reproduce independently. Conversation revealed that if a single member was isolated, and under the circumstances that would normally produce a child, then they will simply produce a child with DNA identical to the parent.

The Tallest’s cultural norms also differ greatly from humans in that they do not possess or use names of any kind; instead, they refer to each other with titles unique to each relationship such as friend or parent. It is also worth mentioning that titles such as mother, father, or any other familial tie is only acceptable to be used by a member of the individual’s family. This is, in fact, directly related to their species name being Tallest because they are agreeable to being referred to as the tallest species. They care less about who someone is than they do about who they are to them.

Physically speaking they appear androgynous and pale (and super tall) with their legs making up roughly half of their total height. They are generally thin and while their appearance may lead you to believe that they are not particularly strong, like most other bipedals over 10 feet tall, they actually have a significant lifting strength from a series of muscles that travel from the arms all the way down their back.

DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THEIR ABILITY TO LIFT HEAVY SHIT.

I discovered this strength when an adult Tallest mistook me for a young child and decided to pick me up and deliver me back to my parents. I was equipped with my MK4 Exo-Suit at the time and weighed roughly 1.5 tons. I am led to believe that they can lift significantly more than that based on the circumstances and difficulty I observed. NOTE: I specify that they can LIFT remarkably heavy loads, but it seems that their strength has little utility outside of an upwards motion. They lack significant dexterity in their arms and thus DO NOT possess the sort of strength that would be useful for combat or motions other than lifting an object straight upwards. Their legs are suitably strong to match their upward strength and seem to possess normal dexterity (probably best not to mess with them as I’m pretty sure they could kick you into next week. Even more so considering that we only come up to their knees on average).

Anyway, I’ve made contact with a Tallest after that brief misunderstanding and they seem amiable to humans. We could probably bring some civilians here based on that evidence since I doubt that they would be interested in hurting people who look like small children to them. My impression of them, as a whole, is that they are a docile people who place great emphasis on politeness and respectful conduct.

As a final note, WHY THE HELL WEREN’T WE INFORMED THAT WE LOOK LIKE LITTLE KIDS TO THESE GUYS BEFORE BEING SENT TO DEFEND THEM??

UPDATE THE DAMN SPECIES FILE
